The recipient shall be either a member, or their primary residence must be within a member’s household. This scholarship will be open to any high school senior and is planning to attend, a two or four year accredited university, college or technical school in Georgia.Īll Canoochee EMC members, including children and those who primarily reside within a home on Canoochee’s system, that attend a High School may apply. The application must also contain an academic transcript, SAT or ACT scores, letters of recommendation, proof of enrollment, or intended enrollment, at a post secondary school and a short autobiography. The applications will include questions that will deal with economic background, as well as academia. Scholarships will be selected by non CEMC employees in order to insure integrity and fair judging.Īpplications must be postmarked by April 15, 2023. The top candidate of the CEMC Foundation Scholarship receives this award.Ĭanoochee EMC will be giving at least five scholarships a year to deserving students. Upon her passing, Canoochee EMC was proud to announce a scholarship in her honor. Tootle was Canoochee EMC’s first hired employee, serving many different roles with Canoochee. The Mary Shuptrine Tootle Scholarship was first given out in 2015. This Round-Up money shall cover all of the scholarships, and will not cost any of the member’s anything additionally besides their initial donations through Operation Round-Up. The scholarship is a direct result of the member’s donations through Operation Round-Up. If all 15,000 Canoochee EMC member-owners participate, approximately $90,000 will be “rounded up” each year! These funds can be used to purchase emergency medical equipment, further education, provide hot meals to the elderly, buy equipment for the handicapped, or to fill a host of other needs in our community.CEMC Foundation Scholarship & Mary Shuptrine Tootle ScholarshipĬanoochee EMC will be offering a scholarship to those eligible inside CEMC’s coverage area. What Are The Benefits of Operation Round Up? If you decide not to participate, or if you chose to discontinue your contribution at any time in the future, simply contact the office of Canoochee EMC Member-Owners of Canoochee EMC are automatically included in Operation Round Up. Rest assured, 100% of your contributions goes to make life better for our community. The Canoochee EMC Foundation, Inc is a state chartered, non-profit organization and any small administrative costs are absorbed by Canoochee EMC. Requests for assistance from The Canoochee EMC Foundation are evaluated and awarded by a separate board of directors, made up of nine volunteer leaders from our own community. The average member who contributes ends up giving about six dollars a year. For example, if your bill is $104.52 you will pay $105.00 with the 48 cents going directly to the Canoochee EMC Foundation. By rounding up their bill to the next dollar, thousands of Canoochee EMC members have helped contribute over $1 million since we first began the program in 2001.Ĭanoochee EMC bills of participating members are automatically "rounded-up" to the nearest dollar.
